The release of Ladies Love Mixtapes is almost here. We just wrapped the last day of shooting and I am looking forward to seeing the end results.

I know I’m a day late!!!…HA! So…Im not really sure when Scandal returns however I know all of you have been anticipating the next amazing installment of SCANDAL LESS Thursday…. WOOO HOOOO!!!! ITS BACK! ;-)
Harrisson Wright is probably the most mysterious Gladiator in Olivia’s camp. He is extremely loyal and is good for a pep talk when things get rough. We still don’t know too much about him. Im thinking Shonda is writing some great back story about him at this very moment. What we do know is that he was in jail for something and Olivia helped him out….hmmmmmm
We may not know much about Harrison however the actor by the name of Columbus Short has an extremely solid resume very early in his career. Columbus started his career as a dancer and is first role was in “You Got Served” His first lead role was in Save The Last Dance 2. It went straight to DVD. His next role that I think most people especially the ladies now him from is “Stomp The Yard” , a realistic look at Greek Culture on Historically Black College campuses. Not so much on the second part of that last sentence…HA! Anyway the brother can dance.
His acting chops are tested in the movie “Cadillac Records” where he plays the part of Little Walter. Columbus has been in a few films I have seen but did not know it was him. He has a way of becoming immersed in his role.
Last season every ones story was able to be told. Harrison’s is still a great mystery. Let me tell you what I think happened. I think he was in a dance battle and was trying one of his most dangerous signature moves, and he caused a melee in the midst of a family doing the wobble at a barbecue in Atlanta. Someone lost their life and he was charged with murder during a line dance. Olivia being a fan of line dancing and Stompin the yard felt bad for him and arranged to have him released and become a gladiator because of his great dancing skills and his ability to rally the troops. Well….maybe thats not what happened at all. Shonda’s probably writing his story right now.

On any average day in the midst of living, my attention is pulled in multiple directions.
There is a meme that’s floating around the interwebs that reads in effect, that as long as you don’t take the steps to realize your dream you will be working for someone else helping them achieve theirs.
Many times I find myself thinking about the current happenings of the day. I make a conscious effort to avoid them; however having this phone in my hand can be the gateway to loss of focus and being deliberate. It can stop me from progressing.
It can also be a tool to help me focus. It’s my choice.
Everyday we are drawn away from the most important source that should be receiving our attention.

On 1- 4-13 a few of us were invited by Monique Spence to take part in Burning Bowl held at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. Burning Bowl is an event where people gather at the beginning of the New Year to symbolically burn away all the circumstances holding us back and we write a letter to God making requests and asking for change in our lives. The letter is saved and mailed back to you six months later as a check point to see where you are at the half way point in the year.
I am happy to say that I am right where I need to be and everything is LOOKING UP!!!
We are in the midst of a shift right now and it is not an accident. Peoples sensibilities are changing and we are recognizing who we are. The power is in our words and our actions. Declare change in order to see change. We are not afraid to tap into this power we have given by the creator. We deserve the best. We deserve happiness.
Reading my letter six months later reaffirms what I know to be true. We are loved and provided for and we dont have to worry about a thing. Take action NOW! Find that place of peace and create. Be inspired and observe the universe moving in your favor.

Father knows best. In Olivias case, Father knows EVERYTHING.
Rowan played by Joe Morton surfaced towards the end of the season barking demands and pulling strings all over Washington. He has everybody who is anybody in that town in his back pocket. He’s the boss of the assassins G16. He orders Cyrus around and knows about everything that is going on with Fitz and his daughter Olivia. He seems to be running something. What is he running? What else does he know? Where does he come from?
I have my own answers to those questions. I will address them later. Lets talk about Joe Morton the actor who plays Rowan.
Joe Morton has been acting for over 40 yrs and has stared in a vast array of movies and television shows. He stared as Hal Marshall on the hit show “Sanford and Son” and played the same character on the spinoff called “Grady”. I had no idea Grady had a spinoff. Good Googly Moogly…lol He went on to play the Brother (Alien) from the cult classic “The Brother from Another Planet” He was also Dr. Miles Bennett Dyson from “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”. I could go on and on with a list of characters that Joe Morton has played. Its a long list. However one character stands out to me and provides me with great background when it comes to my imagination and the origins of Rowan.
Senator Byron Douglas III from a Different World is Joe Morton’s most memorable character in my opinion. Check out one of my all time favorite moments in television.
After watching this I think I know exactly where Rowan came from. Rowan formerly known as Byron (BYRAAAAAAAAN) for all my Tyler Perry fans, HA!..Anyway…After Byron gets left at the alter he is too embarrassed to be seen and he leaves town changes his name and becomes a spy for the CIA. As a result of his exemplary work during the Gulf War, the Monica Lewinsky scandal with President Clinton, The East Coast West Coast beef and Affirmative Action he was promoted to head up the super duper top secret G16.
He started hearing stories about his daughter in the streets and knew it was time to put the hammer down..then….BOOM he is in the limo with his daughter and they are going to have a heart to heart.
Well.. thats what I think happened…lol. Im sure Shonda Rhimes has her own thoughts.
Im looking forward to see what Rowan and Olivia are going to discuss. Are you?

Another Thursday without Scandal? Dont fret I got you covered. If you have been having a hard time finding something to do during this SCANDAL hiatus make sure you hit last weeks blog.
To be honest I was late to all the SCANDAL hoopla and hype. The only reason I ended up watching was because of a friend of mine who persuaded me and because I wanted to know why this show had people stuck to their television sets. 2 seasons later Im writing a blog about it. Go figure..lol
Full disclosure …Kerry Washington is GORGEOUS and that is probably the main reason I watch the show….HA! The most intriguing aspect of the Olivia Pope character is not her impeccable wardrobe. Finding out that Olivia is based on a real life person is what amazes me.
Judy Smith
Judy Smith is the Co-Executive Producer of SCANDAL and is the real “Fixer”. She was the Press Secretary for President George H Bush and has worked with many high profile clients. Her list of clients include names like Lewinsky, Snipes, Bryant, Barry, Craig, Vick and Jackson Jr.. This woman has put in 25 years of WORK! She is known around the world for her expertise as a “Crisis Management Advisor”
This woman helped a crackhead become mayor again. She helped an accused rapist secure endorsement deals again. She helped a dog fighter reestablish himself in the NFL and Blade was able to be a day-walker again. I think she made Jr. Bi-Polar too….HA!
If I find myself in any crisis I need managed I want her on my team. After reading the bio on her website its clear that this woman is the truth.
It just makes me wonder how many of these episodes have some truth to them….hmmmm.

TOP 10 “Things to do while Scandal is on hiatus”
1. Organize your bookshelf.
Surely you have books that you have neglected because of this amazing show…GET TO IT!
2. Call your mother and talk about Scandal.
Mom always appreciates a call and you can have a cool conversation about Olivia’s fashion sense and how Huck turned into a punk.
3. Find a cure for ADHD.
Huh?…what was that?…I got distracted.
4. Start a support group for Scandal withdrawal. S.W.A.G. (Scandal Withdrawal Assistance Group)
I would do this one myself, but I have a blog to write.
5. Write your own TV Drama and cast Megan Goode as the lead.
I know it was done already…but do it again Megan deserves it
6. Become a politician and run for President of the Scandal Fan Club.
I’m sure there are great perks with becoming the president of the Scandal Fan Club. All the wine you can drink and more backstabbing than you can handle cant be bad.
7. Watch Greys Anatomy.
I always seem to catch the last 5 minutes of the most dramatic moments of Greys right before Scandal comes on. Im assuming that this show is awesome because Shonda Rhimes writes this also. All I know is that I would NEVER want to be a patient at that hospital. TOO MUCH DRAMA!
8. Defend the show to all of your friends who dont watch it.
Olivia is a “complex” character to say the least and people who dont know anything about the show seem to be talking about it the most. Invite your friends to the S.W.A.G meetings and provide some insight on the gladiators.
9. Create fictitious story lines about Scandal and start discussions on FB.
In my version of Scandal, Edison beats up the President a marries Olivia. HA!
10. Go for a walk at your nearest park and hold secret meetings on the park bench.
Apparently the best way to make sure things are kept secret is to have a discussion on a park bench surrounded by the public.
