Jessie Jackson says Native Americans are the lowest on the totem pole – endorses Sanders for president

Civil Rights activist and Operation Push founder Jessie Jackson let his voice be known today by endorsing Bernie Sanders for president of the United Sanders Jacksons endorsement of Sanders comes the day after a rally held for the presidential candidate at Grant Park in Chicago. Sanders rally drew about fifteen thousand supporters.

“With the exception of Native Americans, African Americans are the people who are most behind socially and economically in the United States and our needs are not moderate,” Jackson said in a statement the Sanders campaign released Sunday morning. “A people far behind cannot catch up choosing the most moderate path. The most progressive social and economic path gives us the best chance to catch up and Senator Bernie Sanders represents the most progressive path. That’s why I choose to endorse him today.” said Jackson

Jacksons endorsement does not come without requests. Jackson mentioned that Sanders committed to 13 different issues that he would consider. Sanders has committed to appointing a Black Woman to the Supreme Court and adding more Black women to the democratic ticket this fall. These commitments also include free tuition at public colleges and universities.

Sanders announced the endorsement on ABC’s This Week after George Stephonapoulos pointed out Biden’s wins and the overwhelming support he is getting from the democratic candidates who dropped out of the race.

“It’s no secret, George. You know politics in this country. We’re not going to get the most support of elected leaders, not most governors, not most senators,” Sanders responded. “But we are winning the support of grassroots America because we have an agenda that speaks to working people.”

Jackson has “been a leader in helping to transform this country, an aide to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., so we’re proud,” Sanders said.

Da Baby decided to observe International Women’s day by hauling off and slapping a female fan in a club. A video circulating social media shows Da Baby leaving a packed club. On his way out a fan is seen extending a phone towards him with the flash on. The phone appears to touch his face. Da Baby’s immediate reaction was to slap the woman with vicious force and keep walking out the club as if nothing happened.

You can hear the woman scream in the background. You can also hear another woman say ” He slapped the f–k outta her.”

Twitter has a lot to say about this latest violent episode with Da Baby and opinions vary.

Jadakiss remembers and honors Icepick Jay on ‘Ignatius’

Ignatius artwork (Photo source: instagram @jadakiss)

The inspiration behind Jadakiss’s fifth solo album Ignatius is an emotional one. He created this project to honor his close friend and colleague Ignatius “Icepick Jay” Jackson who passed away in 2017 due to colon cancer. Jackson was instrumental in Jada’s career as well as others such as Eve and Swizz Beatz. Jada created this album as an opportunity to speak his last words to his close friend, his brother.

Ignatius is not the grimy sound many may be looking for. This project is more polished and feels more like something you can ride to rather than ride out to. “Me” is the closest one will get to hearing early 2000 Jada and even then he laments on his friend. “I’m in a group meeting they took Pick from us now it’s just Louch, P and (ME)” That particular song is nostalgic because he raps around the sample and uses it as base of his delivery.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club Jada points to why Ignatius sounds the way it does. “I tried to do a lot of the features that he (Icepick Jay) would always be in my ear (about)” Because of that this 13 track venture features Pusha T, John Legend, Rick Ross, Dej Loaf and Ty Dolla $ign.

Stand out tracks are “Me”, “(NYB) Need Your Best” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, “Kisses to the Sky”featuring Rick Ross and Emanny” “Huntin Season” featuring Pusha T and “Keep it 100”

In 2020 it’s great to hear and inspired and sharp Jada. Ignatius is a solid project. The live instrumentation that was done in post production makes for something more mature and musical.

What do you think of Ignatius? Does Jadakiss still have it? What’s your favorite song? How would you rate this project? Share in the comments below.

4 women get granted clemency because of Kim Kardashian and Trump; You mad?

Kim Kardashian West has taken full advantage of the Trump White House. She has done this for the benefit of four women who undoubtedly are extremely grateful. In 2018 Alice Marie Johnson was one of the first to be granted clemency by President Trump via the work and influence of Kardashian West. The 65 year-old Johnson was serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug conviction. Kardashian West learned about the case through a viral video. She visited the White House and with the help of Jared Kushner lobbied on behalf of Johnson and helped her gain her freedom after being locked up since 1996.

Brittany K. Barnett, Kardashian West’s personal lawyer pointed to her dedication to this cause in an interview with BuzzFeedNews “This wasn’t just a one-off thing,” Barnett said of Kardashian West. “This is a real passion for her.”

Brittany K. Barnett and MiAngel Cody are the architects of #90DaysOfFreedom Campaign. In three months they worked to free 17 federal prisoners who were unfairly convicted and were given life sentences for drug crimes. Kardashian-West has attached her celebrity to this movement and continues this work with fervor.

Kardashian-West visited the White House on 3-4-2020 with four women who have been granted clemency to continue this discussion on criminal justice reform.

In an interview with Vogue in 2019 Kardashian revealed that she would be going back to school to become a lawyer. “I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society,” Kardashian West tells Vogue. “I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more.”

She is clearly on her way.

Should Kim Kardashian West be doing this? Are you for or against this? You mad? Share your comments below.

They tried it: Racists tried to trash Black woman’s company with bad reviews

CEO of The Honey Pot, Beatrice Feliu-Espada

I’m sure the owner of The Honey Pot Beatrice Feliu-Espada expected a spike in business after her new commercial with Target aired. I’m sure she didn’t expect racist trolls to try and sabotage her company with horrible reviews.

The Honey Pot is in the business of creating feminine cleansers with natural ingredients. Feliu-Espada launched her company in 2014. She saw the need because of a personal issue with vaginosis. On the company’s website she mentioned she received the recipe for her first wash from an ancestor in a dream.

Since that dream, The Honey Pot has been an extremely successful company. Recently Target launched an advertisement featuring the owner. In the 30 second spot Feliu-Espada says “The reason why it’s so important for Honey Pot to do well is so the next Black girl that comes up with a great idea, she can have a better opportunity. That means a lot to me.”

Those few sentences threw the racists into a frenzy and they took to trustpilot.com to give bad reviews and speak ill about the commercial Target aired.

As with most things racist the individuals who posted their hate reviews conflated the issue with Target not being inclusive.

Black women caught wind of this and immediately went to the review site to shift the tides.

The site went from a rating of bad to excellent within 24 hours.

Do you think Target is not being inclusive? Is the commercial racist? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

‘PTSD’ is G Herbo at his most vulnerable

G Herbo has delivered one of the strongest sophomore projects in recent time with PTSD. The so-called sophomore jinx does not appear to be an issue for the Chicago rapper. PTSD is the follow up to his 2017 offering Humble Beast. Herbo has come into his own.

Lyrically Herbo maintains his street edge and it’s more polished. He comes right out of the gate blasting. On ‘Intro” Herbo raps “I do it for the haves and the have nots, all he had was a half and a glass pot, gotta race till he the first one with the last rock, every day you see his face just like a mascot, trapping out the Honda, no he never had a stash box, stuck to armed violence, that was at the last spot”

Herbo’s voice and delivery carry the pain and authenticity of someone who has experienced trauma on multiple levels. This vulnerability is most evident on “Gangstas Cry” featuring BJ the Chicago Kid. He laments about losing a friend to the violence that’s had a grip on the city for many years. “I stayed up the longest when my n—- died, I poured up some more so I could stop from crying. Relapsed after quitting like my second time, but I know I wanna numb the pain that’s inside” Herbo raps.

The title track “PTSD” featuring the late Juice Wrld, Chance the Rapper and Lil Uzi Vert is a glimpse inside of the minds of these young stars. The chorus is haunting and emotional. Hearing Juice Wrld sing the chorus sounds like a plea for help ‘I made it on my own, the said I’d be in jail or dead, I’ve seen my brothers fall over and over again. Don’t stand too close to me, I got PTSD”

Herbo’s unguarded approach is what makes this project so relatable. The stand out tracks are “Gangbangin”, “PTSD” “Lawyer Fees” and “Intuition.”  Herbo gave us a classic and continues the tradition of Chicago rappers providing substance.

Take a listen to ‘PTSD’ below.
