Jussie may be going to jail after new indictment

Jussie Smollett

Jussie Smollett has been indicted by a special prosecutor. Fox 32 reported that Chicago special prosecutor Dan Webb has issued this indictment. Smollett is expected in court on February 24, 2020.

All of this stems from the 2019 hate crime that happened in Chicago. The hate crime turned out as a hoax and seemed to be orchestrated by Smollett.

When news of the fake hate crime hit the web Smollett received support from all of his Hollywood friends most notably his former co-stars from Empire Taraji P Henson and Terrance Howard. The internet stood behind the actor.

Once the story started to unravel Smollett’s support waned. .

Smolett was indicted on February 20, 2019 for disorderly conduct and filing a fraudulent police report. The indictment pointed to Smollett paying two Nigerian men to participate in his alleged staged attack.

Those charges were dropped in March of 2019 in exchange for community service and a 10k fine. Smollett doubled down after the charges were dropped. He never once denied that the attack happned.

States Attorney Kim Foxx and former superintendent of The Chicago police were at odds because of this case. Johnson said Smollett and his attorneys “chose to hide behind secrecy and broker a deal to circumvent the judicial system.”

Former Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel was also angry about the initial outcome in a press conference in 2019 he share his thoughts “This is, without a doubt, a whitewash of justice and sends a clear message that if you’re in a position of influence and power, you’ll get treated one way, other people will be treated another way. There is no accountability.” said Emanuel

Smollett has since gone into obscurity since the initial incident. There were rumors of him joining the final season of Empire but that did not happen. Details are still surfacing in this new indictment.

So what do you think? Will Jussie serve time? Share in the comments.

Camille Cosby comes for Gayle King with a sharp lashing

Camille Cosby (Photo source: Wikipedia)

Camille Cosby has delivered a clear an succinct message to Gayle King and others who seem to have taken up the mantle against Black men. Camille took to instagram to provide a message in defense of Kobe Bryant’s family and the image of Black men.

All of this is a result of the interview Gayle King did with Lisa Leslie. King brought up Kobe Bryant’s 2003 sexual assault case and Kobes legacy. This happened right after discussing Kobe’s daughter Gianna playing in the WNBA. Many have taken exception to Kings line of questioning and have not hesitated to let her know.

Snoop Dog took to his instagram to share his displeasure “Gayle King, outta pocket for that s–, Way outta pocket. What do you gain from that? I swear to God we the worst. We the f— worst. We expect more from you Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why ya’ll attacking us? We your people. You didn’t come after f—- Harvey Weinstien asking them dum a– questions. I get sick a ya’ll. I wanna call you one. Is it ok if I call her one?”

Snoop calls King out of her name saying she needs to back off “before we come get you”. Bill Cosby tweeted from inside of his jail cell in order to thank Snoop for exposing King and “an agenda of successful Black Women being used to tarnish the image and legacy of successful Black men even in death.” tweeted Bill Cosby

Mrs. Cosby echoed her husbands statement in a instagram post “The relentless, stereotypical portrayals of people of color… and I will specify African American men for the purpose of this statement…and the ever-present, unproven accusations of Black men as sexually deviant, brutal black bucks, are repetitive obsessions in most general media.” she posted

King has since delivered what can be interpreted as an apology for how her line of questioning was viewed out of context.

5 reasons why Lisa Leslie is the real MVP

Lisa Leslie

Salute to Lisa Leslie.

The past 2 days have been a whirlwind when it comes to the living. The fact is Kobe, Gianna and seven other individuals are no longer with us. Their families are left to morn their loss alone once the cameras go off. Can any of you even imagine what these families are going through? What could it possibly be like to be Vanessa Bryant who lost her husband and her daughter? How do the families of John Altobelli, Kerri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Ara Zobyan and Christina Mauser feel about their family members being lumped in as the “seven other victims”?

Those questions are why what Gayle King did was so unsettling and irresponsible. She tried to pass the buck off to “someone” at CBS uploading that snippet after the interview already aired. She mentioned the video was out of context. King provided a number of reasons. She even mentioned how she would feel if she saw the video the way the public did. “I know that if I had seen the video that you saw, I’d be extremely angry with me too” said King. That is the most telling part of this. If that line of questioning is moved to any other part of that interview it’s going to come off the same way. It’s going to feel abrupt, accusatory and like gotcha journalism.

Lisa Leslie handled her questions masterfully. She kept her composure even after she was blindsided. Leslie spoke facts, protected her friend and delivered a clear message. This three time WNBA MVP rose to the occasion with class and grace.

Here are five reasons why she remains the MVP.

  1. She never once shied away from the question.
  2. She kept her poise.
  3. She spoke her truth and shared the impression of the man she knew Kobe to be.
  4. She looked Gayle directly in her eyes and told her that the “media” (another word for Gayle) should be more respectful at this time.
  5. She shut it all down when she reminded Gayle that the case was dismissed and it should stay there.

It takes a real friend to fend off an attack against you and your family in that manner. We should all be so lucky to have one friend like that.

Who is your MVP? How did Lisa do? Share in the comments.

Oprah cries over Gayle’s death threats

Oprah Winfrey on “Today” (Photo credit: Youtube screenshot)

Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are not about that social media life. Oprah visited Hoda and Jenna on “Today” and spoke about her best friends condition after the response she has received following her interview with Lisa Leslie.

King pressed Lisa Leslie about Kobe’s legacy and how his sexual assault case would tarnish it. The internet went ballistic. Snoop cursed her out and got a tweet from Bill Cosby who is in prison thanking him for it.

King has since apologized but it has essentially fallen on deaf ears. When asked how her best friend was doing Oprah said “She is not doing well, because she has death threats and has to travel with security and she’s feeling very much attacked. “ Oprah continued “Bill Cosby is tweeting from jail. She feels like she was put in a really terrible position because that interview had already ran.”

Monique goes after Oprah because of Harvey Weinstein

Monique took to instagram recently to give Oprah Winfrey a piece of her mind. Monique decided to share her thoughts with respect to how different Oprah is treating Harvey Weinstein and Russell Simmons.

Both men are currently under investigation for alleged sex crimes against women. Moniques position is that Oprah’s friendship with Harvey Weinstein has caused her not to be as vigilant as she has been with Russell Simmons and Michael Jackson.

The Leaving Neverland documentary about Michael Jackson which was proven to have many inconsistencies was followed up with an interview of the accusers by Oprah. Oprah was also set to produce the documentary On the Record. The film presents the stories of several women who have accused Russell Simmons of sexual assault.

Oprah has since stepped down from the project. She issued a statement “I have decided that I will no longer be executive producer on The Untitled Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering Documentary and it will not air on Apple TV+, Winfrey continued “First and foremost, I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard. In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision.”

Monique has taken issue with the way Oprah is handling Weinstein’s accusations with kid gloves as it compares to Simmons and Jackson. Take a look at her instagram post below.

Rapper Nipsey Hussle killed in Los Angeles

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Ashgedom, 33, has died. The rapper was shot outside his Los Angeles store. Two others were wounded and are reportedly in serious condition. The suspect remains at large.Multiple media outlets have reported that rapper Nipsey Hussle was been shot six times outside his store in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. His store, Marathon Clothing Company, opened in 2017. Hussle’s connection to the Crips is no secret, however, that did not stop him from crossing the line to do business with rappers like YG, who is affiliated with the Bloods.

Hussle was recently nominated for a Grammy for his debut studio album, Victory Lap. His rise in the industry has been unorthodox. In 2013, he released his mixtape Crenshaw and sold 1,000 copies for 100 dollars per copy. He sold every copy within 24 hours.

He released another project in 2015 titled Mailbox Money. He pressed 100 copies and charged $1,000. He sold 60 copies of the project.

Hussle has been a proponent of reinvesting in your community and owning a business. His store in Los Angeles is a culmination of his efforts.

In the song “Last Time I Checc’d feat. YG,” Hussle raps:

“It was visionary, either I’m genius or you ni**as scary-Maybe it’s both and this balance I deliver daily-For every n—a in the streets tryna feed the babies-The single mama’s workin’ hard not to miss a payment-And dirty money get washed on royalty statements-Black owners in this game of powerful racists-Young n—as in the set that’s doin’ it makeshift-Out the garage is how you end up in charge-It’s how you end up in penthouses, end up in cars-It’s how you start off a curb server, end up a boss-it’s how you win the whole thing and lift up a cigar-With sweat drippin’ down your face ’cause the mission was hard”

Earlier this year, Hussle announced that he would be doing a documentary on famed holistic healer Dr. Sebi. Sebi was said to have cured people of AIDS and cancer using his alternative medicines.
