Jussie may be going to jail after new indictment

Jussie Smollett

Jussie Smollett has been indicted by a special prosecutor. Fox 32 reported that Chicago special prosecutor Dan Webb has issued this indictment. Smollett is expected in court on February 24, 2020.

All of this stems from the 2019 hate crime that happened in Chicago. The hate crime turned out as a hoax and seemed to be orchestrated by Smollett.

When news of the fake hate crime hit the web Smollett received support from all of his Hollywood friends most notably his former co-stars from Empire Taraji P Henson and Terrance Howard. The internet stood behind the actor.

Once the story started to unravel Smollett’s support waned. .

Smolett was indicted on February 20, 2019 for disorderly conduct and filing a fraudulent police report. The indictment pointed to Smollett paying two Nigerian men to participate in his alleged staged attack.

Those charges were dropped in March of 2019 in exchange for community service and a 10k fine. Smollett doubled down after the charges were dropped. He never once denied that the attack happned.

States Attorney Kim Foxx and former superintendent of The Chicago police were at odds because of this case. Johnson said Smollett and his attorneys “chose to hide behind secrecy and broker a deal to circumvent the judicial system.”

Former Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel was also angry about the initial outcome in a press conference in 2019 he share his thoughts “This is, without a doubt, a whitewash of justice and sends a clear message that if you’re in a position of influence and power, you’ll get treated one way, other people will be treated another way. There is no accountability.” said Emanuel

Smollett has since gone into obscurity since the initial incident. There were rumors of him joining the final season of Empire but that did not happen. Details are still surfacing in this new indictment.

Four people are now in custody for an alleged kidnapping that was broadcast on Facebook live. The brazen act took place in Tuesday on the 3400 block of West Lexington on the West Side of Chicago. The victim of the assault was tied up, beaten, his clothes were cut, his hair was cut until his scalp started to bleed. The also used his head as an ashtray. Brittany Hearing is one of the individuals who has been arrested and she is seen holding the phone and communicating with those who are watching the stream. Her facebook page has been shared on YouTube.

The kidnapping has been hash tagged on Twitter as #BLMKidnapping. The suspects are heard in the background of the video screaming F– Trump and F–White people. However; it has not been stated that they have any affiliation with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Supt. Johnson said in the press conference that he thinks those comments are stupidity and people ranting about something that they think might make a headline.

At some point the victim was released and was found by the Chicago police wandering the street. The police then responded to a battery call at a residence close to where the victim was found. Once the police saw the video it was determined that the man in the video and the man they found was the same person.

Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said “It’s sickening. It makes you wonder what would make individuals treat somebody like that. I’ve been a cop or 28 years, and I’ve seen things that you shouldn’t see in a lifetime and it still amazes me how you still see things that you just shouldn’t.

Commander Kevin Duffin mentioned in the press conference that the victim was an acquaintance of one of the subjects. The victim is reportedly from a Chicago suburb and was recently reported missing by his parents. Duffin also stated a van was stolen from that suburb.

“If you commit an act of violence in the city of Chicago you will experience the full weight of the Chicago Police Department. Tonight four individuals have felt the consequences of their actions” said Supt. Johnson
