Babyface and Teddy Riley break Instagram

Over 500 thousand people joined IG live yesterday for the rematch of the Babyface vs Teddy Riley battle. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s VERZUZ series continues to break records and the internet with these battles.

The legendary producers returned on April 20,2020 to IG with their A Game. Technical difficulties brought the initial battle to a halt. Teddy Riley brought a full production out with him the first time. This time he scaled it down considerably much to the satisfaction of the fans.

The highlight of this battle is when Babyface pulled out his guitar and did a live rendition of “When Will I See You Again” Teddy was visibly surprised and caused him some pause. The battle continued. Babyface was pulling away and then Teddy started to bring out the big guns, ie: Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. For some reason Teddy neglected to charge his phone and needed to find a charger. As he was looking for the charger the audience grew and the connection got weaker. Ultimately the live broadcast crashed and the R&B legends took time going back and forth to each others platforms looking to be added to no avail.

Interestingly enough when the audience migrated over to Teddy’s page he was in a new room in front of his keyboard ready to jam. None of it seemed to matter because the two R&B legends had officially crashed IG live and could not accommodate anymore fans.

The nostalgia of the battle transported me to my prom all the way to my partying days and it was awesome. I scored the battle a tie 9-9 before everything crashed. Check out my break down below
